Every other Monday, we gather at Jennings Park in Marysville from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM for an exciting Live Action Role Play (LARP) experience! For the most up-to-date information, join our dedicated Facebook page.
This is a family-friendly event and not a drop-off class. The goal is to create a supportive environment where children can engage in free play that includes foam-weapon combat, nature exploration, and community-building activities.
Consent and Communication:
A central focus of this class is teaching children the importance of consent—both verbal and non-verbal. They learn to ask for verbal consent before engaging in combat or physical interactions and to recognize signs that another child may not be comfortable.
Empowerment and Respect:
Children are encouraged to stand up for themselves and communicate their boundaries clearly, whether they’re ready to engage in physical combat or prefer other types of play.
Fun Beyond Combat:
For those who prefer a more peaceful experience, Jennings Park provides ample opportunities for nature exploration, imaginative play, and forming friendships outside of combat. Many children join simply for the fun, community, and outdoor adventures.
Community Circles:
Each session begins with a dedicated circle time where children introduce themselves and their character, setting the stage for creativity and connection. At the end of the session, we gather again for a closing circle where children are encouraged to share their “rose” and “thorn”—what they enjoyed most and what they found challenging about the day. This reflective time fosters self-expression, confidence, and community bonding.
Join us to discover a unique blend of physical activity, social learning, and outdoor play!
