About Miss Victoria

Victoria Baker is a long time grades and early childhood Waldorf educator, and parent working and living in Snohomish county, on the traditional lands of the Coast Salish people.

She is an artist, experienced Waldorf educator and a
Washington State Certified Substitute Elementary teacher with a
passion for the protection of childhood and the nurturing of
imagination. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Teaching Degree
from The Evergreen State College and has completed two years of
Waldorf Summer Teacher Training at the Rudolf Steiner College in
Fair Oaks, California. She is also a graduate of Lifeways of North
America, a Washington State licensed family childcare provider and a
trained Simplicity Parenting Coach.

Victoria previously taught at the Olympia Waldorf School in
Olympia,Three Cedars Waldorf School in Bellevue and most recently,
Greenwood Tree Cooperative School. Her paths as a parent and
teacher have always been closely intertwined and for the past 20 years
she has had the privilege of seeing the power of this human-centered
approach and arts based education in children, from birth to high
school. Victoria continues to be inspired by the deep wisdom of the
founder of Waldorf education, Rudolf Steiner, the master teachers who
have built upon this foundation and the many elders who remain
engaged in the Waldorf movement, well into their 70's, 80's and even
90's! She also finds inspiration in the many diverse innovative and
alternative approaches to education which intersect with the impulse
of Waldorf education through an approach to learning that addresses
the whole child and supports the rightful unfolding of their
development within the context of nature and community.

It is with great excitement that she brings holistic, play-based
early childhood education to her local community of North Everett
and the Riverside Neighborhood through her home program,
Hawthorn Hearth. Victoria looks forward to the opportunity to
share many rich artistic experiences, support parents in their journey
as a family and celebrate in community!

Victoria currently works with her Thimbleberry Kindergarten alumni families, through Hawthorn Hearth, celebrating and honoring the wheel of the year through seasonal

gatherings and community festival life.
